Boost mechanic


I added a boost mechanic to the grappling hook which allows the player to quickly swing over the handle. Previously, the player had to gather speed by swinging back and forth. I think that was a bit boring and also somewhat unintuitive.

I made a swoosh sound effect for the boost using a modular synth plugin called Oscillot in Ableton Live. Here's the patch:


I also tweaked the level so that it now always requires the player to jump before shooting the grappling hook. Through play testing, I've noticed that players seem to do that naturally, and if the level doesn't accommodate for that, they are having a hard time completing the level.
